Robin has a vast background in sales and management. He worked for York International as a Senior Sales Engineer covering the Southern California region for eight years. He joined Southland Industries in 1976 as their San Diego Sales Manager and remained there for 7 years. He brought his amassed capabilities with him when he joined ICS, becoming a partner in San Marcos Mechanical in early 1993 as the Executive Vice President. In December 2000, our original owner retired and Robin became the sole owner and President. In 2001, he initiated the relocation of our corporate headquarters and name change to Industrial Commercial Systems, Inc. 

In his many years as leader of this company, Robin’s true passion has always been Design/Build construction. He thrives on continually providing innovative solutions to create a truly great mechanical system at the lowest possible cost to our clients. Robin repeatedly revisits processes to seek out improvements. He focuses his efforts on select clientele, making them a part of the ICS team. This approach has been successful in creating lasting business relationships and obtaining repeat business. 

Robin has created a family-oriented company culture driven by our core values:  People, Performance, Integrity and Innovation. In fact, he credits the key to our success over the years to our employees and having the right people employed and representing our company. 

In his spare time, Robin serves on the board of the Magdelena Ecke YMCA and is active in their annual RoofRaisers event.

Matt became a partner at ICS in 2004, joining the team with a title of Vice President of Operations.

Matt came to us with MBA’s in Decision Systems and Corporate Finance from University of Southern California as well as a BS in Business Management from San Diego State University. In addition to his outstanding educational resume, Matt brought a wealth of experience to ICS with his 22 years of operations management. 

His experience includes managing over 3,000 employees for the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 production program. He also led three divisions for a publicly traded business and systems integration consulting firm.

Matt has brought a disciplined approach to Project Management at ICS. Instructing classes at Long Beach City College in Operations Management also helped to hone his strong management skills. Matt has developed a proven style which includes a willingness to take risks and allow others to do the same. It is this philosophy that has allowed ICS to develop cohesive, innovative management teams, thus enhancing the overall success of Industrial Commercial Systems.

In addition to his duties at ICS, Matt also finds time to serve on the Training Trust at our San Diego chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
